Kohima: Residents and officials in the Medziphema sub-division participated in a mass social work event on May 21 to prepare for the approaching monsoon season. The initiative aimed to improve town infrastructure and public spaces before heavy rains begin.
The effort drew a wide range of participants, including government employees, village council members, local business owners, and the general public. These groups focused on clearing construction debris, unclogging drainage systems, and trimming overgrown foliage. They also prioritized general waste disposal to keep public utilities and areas clean.
The local administration and the Medziphema Town Council provided coordination and support throughout the day. By assisting with garbage removal and managing the work, these organizations ensured that the cleanup activities were completed efficiently across the entire sub-division.
