Medical Foundation Holds Series of Rural Health Camps Across Nagaland

Kohima: The Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation expanded its rural healthcare push with a string of multispeciality camps. Teams touched down in Khonoma, Kigwema, and Mima to deliver free diagnostics and care. These camps functioned through partnerships with the National Oral Health Programme, the Nagaland government, the Biocon Foundation, and Putuonuo Hospital.

Khonoma kicked off the cycle on May 24 at the local PHC. Staff processed 145 registrations and handled 372 consultations. Doctors screened 133 patients for oral and cervical cancer and performed 12 minor surgeries. Dr. Keviyani Chücha introduced the medical team before Dr. Neiphrezo Sorünuo lectured on cancer risks. Aselie Punyü wrapped up the event with a vote of thanks.

On June 28, the foundation moved to Kigwema Government Middle School. The team registered 227 people and provided 459 consultations. Data shows 164 patients underwent cancer screenings, while others received ultrasound scans and blood tests. Founding Trustee Dr. Kezevituo Keditsu stated, "The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Khomeze Jacob Mera, Village Council Chairman of Kigwema."

Mima village followed on July 12. Medical staff saw 258 patients and conducted 296 consultations. This site recorded the highest testing volume, including 194 cancer screenings, 76 ultrasound scans, and 20 minor procedures. Dr. Keduovinuo Keditsu Chielie led the awareness session while the village pastor offered a closing prayer.

Personnel counts varied by location. Khonoma utilized 34 staff members, Kigwema relied on 35, and Mima saw the largest team of 42. Across all three sites, teams distributed free medicine and supplies to every beneficiary.
