Kohima: A multi-speciality health initiative in Khonoma Village provided free medical services to 145 residents on May 24. Held at the Khonoma Village Primary Health Centre, the event delivered 372 consultations across various medical fields, including general medicine, surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology, obstetrics, and gynaecology.

The medical team performed 133 screenings for oral and cervical cancer and completed 12 minor surgical and dental procedures. Beyond diagnostic care, the organizers distributed free medications and spectacles to those in attendance. The program opened with remarks from Dr. Keviyani Chücha, the medical officer at the local health centre, and featured an educational session on cancer prevention led by Dr. Neiphrezo Sorünuo.

A dedicated team of 34 professionals facilitated the camp, consisting of doctors from Putuonuo Hospital, NIMSR, and NHAK, alongside paramedics, social workers from the Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation, and local health centre staff. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from village council member Aselie Punyü.

The Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation organized the initiative in partnership with the National Oral Health Programme under the Nagaland government. Additional support for the camp came from the Biocon Foundation in Bengaluru and Kohima's Putuonuo Hospital.
