Mawsynram Police Arrest Three for Motorbike Theft

Shillong: Mawsynram police busted a motorcycle theft ring on August 27. Officers set an ambush at Weiloi after receiving a tip about a planned sale of stolen vehicles. Three suspects from Tamulpur, Assam, fell into the net. One accomplice broke free and vanished into the woods. Police currently hunt for the absconder.

Authorities seized three stolen motorcycles during the operation. The bikes include two Yamaha R15s, registered as AS-01-FV-4193 and AS-27-F-1263, and one Royal Enfield Hunter 350 with the registration AS-25-Z-1346. The law acts fast.

Mawsynram police contacted their colleagues in Assam to push the investigation forward. The department intends to ensure full legal action against the group. As the hunt continues, investigators are coordinating across state lines. Regarding the ongoing efforts, police stated: "A search operation is currently under way to trace the absconder."
