Agartala: Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy officially assumed his role as the new state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura on Friday. The transition occurred during a ceremony at the party headquarters in Agartala, where Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha oversaw the handover from outgoing president and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee.

Addressing the media following the event, Debroy outlined his primary goal of extending the party’s ideology and principles to the most remote sections of society. He emphasized the importance of close collaboration with party workers at every level, identifying himself as a dedicated grassroots activist committed to serving the organization with the same vigor he has maintained throughout his career.

Debroy highlighted his intention to foster unity within the party, noting that he would prioritize both the wisdom of senior leadership and the energy of younger cadres. When asked about potential hurdles in his new position, he stated that he does not currently anticipate major obstacles. He added that any challenges that may arise in the future will be managed through collective effort and the continued support of the party's leadership.
