Itanagar: Rescue teams are scouring the Chatjo River in Arunachal Pradesh. Two students remain missing after they went for a swim on Saturday. Three boys left their Deomali hostel for haircuts but headed to the water instead. Monsoon rains left the river swollen and dangerous.

Locals found the body of 12-year-old Paupwang Aana shortly after the incident. Search crews are still looking for 12-year-old Phosam Wangno and 13-year-old Ngowang Kakho. The currents are too strong. Rescuers struggled to make progress on Sunday.

Deomali Assistant Commissioner Indira T. Riba confirmed the grim situation on Monday. The operation expanded today. Teams from the NDRF, SDRF, Indian Reserve Battalion, Assam Rifles, and police are now combing the downstream area alongside local volunteers. Officials stated, "The search operation will continue until the two missing students are traced."

The district administration issued a stern warning. Stay out of the water. Heavy rain continues to pelt the region, and the weather office expects conditions to stay rough.
