Shillong: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya announced an ambitious expansion for the MY Bharat initiative, aiming to reach every district and block in India. Speaking at a two-day Chintan Shivir in Shillong, the minister urged for increased youth participation in nation-building, noting that the platform has already enrolled over 2.17 crore volunteers.

Mandaviya met with officials from the Department of Youth Affairs, MY Bharat, and the National Service Scheme to refine program delivery and foster youth-led development. He emphasized that the efficacy of these initiatives should be measured by their actual impact on local communities. Plans are also underway to establish dedicated MY Bharat Centres across all 783 districts nationwide.

The minister outlined several upcoming engagements, including a nationwide anti-drug campaign running from June 26 to August 15. Additionally, the ministry will organize events at 150 educational institutions to celebrate 150 years of Vande Mataram. During his visit, Mandaviya also participated in a rhododendron trek with volunteers, promoting the importance of fitness, outdoor activity, and environmental conservation.
