Imphal: Manipur University marked its 46th Foundation-cum-Commendation Day on June 5 with a ceremony held at the University Court Hall. The event celebrated the institution's ongoing academic journey while recognizing the contributions of its teaching and administrative staff.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sumitra Phanjoubam praised the collective efforts of the university community in fostering student development and institutional growth. She specifically commended the Examination, Finance, and Academic sections for maintaining operational stability. She noted, "The University's achievements were the result of teamwork and dedication across departments."
Prof. N. Basanta Singh presided over the event and offered congratulations to faculty members honored for their work in research, innovation, and patent acquisition. He also paid tribute to retiring staff members for their years of service to the university.
The event featured the release of a commemorative brochure by the Public Relations Office, which details key institutional milestones. Among these accomplishments is the university's early adoption of the National Education Policy 2020, which began during the 2021-22 academic session. To conclude the celebration, six faculty members received awards for their significant professional contributions.
