Manipur Takes Top Honors in National Electric Mobility Rankings

Imphal: NITI Aayog named Manipur the top-performing state among hilly and Northeastern regions in its 2025 India Electric Mobility Index. Delhi secured the lead in the open category, while Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Chandigarh followed. The award recognizes Manipur for pushing electric vehicle adoption and building a clean transportation network.

R.K. Dinesh Singh, Principal Secretary of Transport, led the state delegation to accept the honor. His team included Special Secretary Laltanpuii, Transport Director Kh. Diana Devi, Priyoranjan of MSPCL, and Imphal West District Transport Officer Kh. Sanjeevkumar. The win marks a major milestone. Officials credited a coordinated effort between the Transport Department, Power Department, and MAHUD for the ranking.

The state government highlighted that this progress relies on public support. "The government also credited public participation and the growing adoption of e-mobility in the state for contributing to the progress." Moving forward, the state aims to expand its green infrastructure. Officials remain committed to fostering sustainable transit solutions with help from local residents.
