Imphal: Manipur security forces dismantled two criminal operations on June 29. They nabbed drug runners in Senapati and unearthed a hidden arsenal in the Jiribam district woods. Soldiers moved fast.

At the T-Khullen Naka check point, police stopped a Tata Yodha vehicle. Inside, they found 42 soap cases stuffed with 530 grams of suspected brown sugar. Officers arrested the driver, 45-year-old Helkho Kipgen, and passenger Hatneilhing Kipgen, 40, both from Kangpokpi. The team seized the truck and 5,000 rupees in cash.

Hours later, police combed a forest near Champanagar. They pulled six self-loading rifles and an AK rifle from the brush. The haul included five magazines and 625 live rounds. Police sources stated that "further investigation and necessary legal proceedings are underway in both cases."
