Manipur Security Forces Seize Brown Sugar and Arrest Two in Koirengei

Imphal: Security forces arrested two men and seized 1.425 kilograms of suspected brown sugar during an operation near CMC Hospital in Koirengei, Manipur, on Monday. Officials confirmed the arrests occurred as part of a targeted enforcement effort in the region.

The suspects were identified as 40-year-old Purna Bahadur Karke from Kanglatongbi Hatik Khuwa and 37-year-old Lovingson from Kanglatongbi Santipur. Karke serves as a Village Defence Force personnel in the Kangpokpi district.

Authorities confiscated a Honda Activa scooter used to transport the narcotics. Both the suspects and the seized items were transferred to the appropriate legal authorities to begin official proceedings.

Investigators are currently working to determine the origin and intended destination of the drugs. The ongoing probe aims to uncover potential connections to larger drug trafficking networks operating throughout the area.
