Manipur Security Forces Arrest Two Militants in Weekend Raids

Imphal: Manipur security forces tracked down two suspected militants during separate raids this week. Officers moved into Imphal East and Imphal West districts on June 25 and 26 to make the arrests. Police confirmed the news on Wednesday.

On June 26, teams raided Khomidok Umang Leikai in the Heingang area. They grabbed 27-year-old Buyamayum Pingku. He is a local from Khomidok Masjid Maning. Authorities linked him to the Kangleipak Communist Party (People's War Group).

A day earlier, forces struck in Imphal West. They apprehended Md. Azad Khan, 46, near Sangaiprou FCI Road. Khan hails from Borayangbi Thongkha in Bishnupur. Investigators claim the man was busy with the illegal sale of arms. Police seized a Tata Safari DiCOR during the bust. Regarding the ongoing efforts to maintain order, a police spokesperson stated, "Security forces arrested two alleged militant cadres in separate operations carried out in Imphal East and Imphal West districts."
