Imphal: Security forces hauled in two insurgents during raids across Manipur's valley districts on Thursday. The arrests targeted members of outlawed groups involved in extortion and illegal arms running. Police claim the men frequently planted grenades to fuel unrest in the region.

Officers nabbed Angom Chingkheinganba Meitei near Aihang Village Gate. The 27-year-old belongs to the Kangleipak Communist Party. Meanwhile, troops intercepted 52-year-old Takhellambam Gremichand in the Kalika Bamon Kampu area. He is a member of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup.

The sweep turned up a 9 mm pistol and two magazines. Police also grabbed 70 rounds of live ammunition and a stash of hand grenades. Authorities confirmed, "All the arrested cadres, along with the seized arms, ammunition and explosives, have been handed over to the respective police stations for further investigation and legal action."

Security teams remain on the hunt. They want to dismantle these networks for good. Officers continue to monitor the valley to stop future violence.
