Imphal: Security forces and Manipur Police swept through the state on June 27. They hauled in three active militants and formally arrested a jailed insurgent chief. The crackdown marks a significant push in the ongoing investigations across several districts.

Officers nabbed two extortionists from the Kangleipak Communist Party. They caught 23-year-old Koijam Lamyanba Meitei near an Imphal West FCI godown. Authorities also grabbed 19-year-old Lourembam Rojit in the Yairipok area.

In a separate strike at Khongjom, forces cornered Thokchom Bango Singh. The 44-year-old is a self-styled Captain for the Revolutionary People's Front and the People's Liberation Army. Soldiers seized a 9 mm pistol, nearly 100 rounds of ammo, and an unregistered Toyota Fortuner during the raid.

The police also targeted leadership. They dragged Haobijam Dilip Singh, the chairman of KCP, from Tihar Jail to face charges. He is now formally under arrest for a case linked to the Singjamei Police Station. Manipur Police said "further legal proceedings have been initiated in all the cases."
