Imphal: Security forces and Manipur Police have intensified operations across the state, resulting in the arrests of several active members belonging to proscribed insurgent outfits. The crackdown aimed to dismantle extortion networks and prevent the recruitment of vulnerable individuals into these organizations.

On June 18, personnel apprehended Wangkhem Premjit Singh, an alleged extortionist and captain with the KCP (PWG), at his residence in Imphal West. That same day, authorities arrested RK Solomon Singh and his associate Thangmeishang Kasar at the ISBT Complex. Officials stated that during this operation, they also rescued a juvenile who was being recruited into the RPF/PLA. Security forces subsequently captured Sarangthem Jayenta Meetei, described by officials as an "S/S Lieutenant Colonel and Director In-Charge of Intelligence of the outfit," in the Kongba Bazar area.

The following day, police arrested another KCP (PWG) cadre, identified as Surensangbam Bungcha, in the Maibam Leikai area. In a separate incident on June 19, security personnel detained a juvenile linked to the United Kuki National Army near Songpi village in Churachandpur. During these coordinated efforts, authorities seized a white Bolero Camper and ₹2,000 in cash, along with various incriminating items.
