Imphal: Security forces and Manipur Police locked up four alleged extortionists during a two-day crackdown. The arrests spanned Imphal West, Jiribam, Bishnupur, and Kakching districts.

Officers picked up Ningthoujam Roshan Singh, 29, at his Lamsang home on July 7. He allegedly shook down local drivers for cash. That same day, officials said the accused was "allegedly extorting money from vehicles passing through his locality."

The push against militant outfits also hit hard on July 6. Security forces grabbed Md. Abdulla Hussain, 22, near Nungkhal Bridge in Jiribam. He is an active Kuki National Front member. Troops found a loaded .32 calibre pistol in his possession.

Police also caught Keisham Kenedy Singh, 38, in the Utlou area of Bishnupur. Known as Roger, he allegedly works for the People's Liberation Army. Another operative, Moirangthem Thoiba Singh, 30, fell to security teams in Kakching the same day. He belongs to the KCP Nongdrenkhomba faction.

These busts represent an ongoing anti-insurgency effort statewide. Investigators are still digging into these cases.
