Imphal: Manipur Police rescued two men from Assam held captive over a money dispute. Officers acted after the Titabar Police Station in Assam reported a man was unlawfully confined in the Senapati district. Authorities tracked the pair to Changta village in the Ukhrul district on July 3. The rescued victims are Kasob Kachari, 29, and Ajay Gogoi, 33.

Police launched a second strike on July 4 to hunt extortionists. They arrested three members of the KCP (PWG) across Imphal East and Imphal West. The detainees are Ningombam Ajitkumar Singh, 46, Laishram Surjit Meitei, 43, and Laishram Birjit Singh, 35. These men allegedly used terror tactics to shake down locals.

Officers seized a Honda Activa scooter and various supplies from the suspects. Officials stated that "further investigation is underway" regarding the group's criminal network. The arrests aim to curb rising extortion cases in the region.
