Imphal: Manipur police grabbed three insurgent cadres in a series of weekend raids. Officers also hauled in a massive stockpile of illegal weapons and ammo. The push followed a bust in Goa where authorities caught a member of the RPF/PLA.

Police snatched 57-year-old Yumnam Thoiba Meitei on June 22. He was hiding out at the Pravabati College relief camp in Mayang Imphal. Investigators link him to the SOREPA group. One day prior, they caught 36-year-old Yumnam Joyraj Singh in the Mayang Imphal area. He is also accused of working for SOREPA.

Security forces tracked down Kshetrimayum Frenston Singh on June 23. The 40-year-old goes by Nanao or Ithat. He is a self-styled Sergeant Major for the PREPAK Red Army. Police arrested him near his home in the Imphal East district.

The weapons recovery happened in the Thoubal district on June 22. It came after police arrested Nongthongbam Ingo in South Goa. Manipur Police worked with Goa authorities to make the capture. The haul included two INSAS rifles, two 9 mm pistols, and 163 rounds of mixed ammo. Nine INSAS magazines were also recovered. A police official stated the items were seized "following the earlier arrest of alleged RPF/PLA cadre Nongthongbam Ingo."
