Imphal: Manipur police grabbed four militants in back-to-back operations this week. Officers caught an alleged KCP member and three UNLF extortionists hiding in the Imphal East district. These arrests mark a sharp blow to insurgent networks operating near the city.

Police nabbed Soram Manaoton Meitei, 32, in the Andro area on July 4. They took his scooter and phone. Hours later, teams moved on the Keikhu area and rounded up Elangbam Tomba Singh, Patrick Golmei, and Athokpam Borish Singh. Authorities linked these three men to the UNLF (Pambei) faction.

Security forces tracked down a hidden stockpile in the Koubru hill range the following day. This massive haul included an INSAS rifle, 24 single-barrel guns, and a hand grenade. Officers also found two walkie-talkie sets stashed near Mangjol village. Security personnel said "search and area domination operations are continuing in vulnerable areas" to stop further militant activity. The state remains on high alert as police hunt for more illegal arms.
