Manipur Physiotherapists Offer Free Care for World Physical Therapy Day

Imphal: The All Manipur Physiotherapist Association plans a statewide rollout of free health services this September 8. They want to mark World Physical Therapy Day. Secretary General Dr. Leishangthem Romenkumar told reporters at the Manipur Press Club that the event targets stroke and cardiovascular disease prevention. He said, "This year’s observance would focus on the theme Stroke and Cardiovascular Disease."

AMPA will run a one-day health camp at two specific locations. Volunteers head to the Senior Citizen Home in Terakhong and the Okshabung Primary School Relief Camp in Moirang, Bishnupur district. Staff will offer free consultations and hand out orthopaedic aids to needy patients.

The association expects high participation. They asked all physiotherapy clinics, rehabilitation centers, and hospital departments across every district to offer free OPD services for the day. This request covers Senapati, Ukhrul, Imphal, Kangpokpi, Noney, and Churachandpur. If a clinic cannot attend the central camp, they must open their doors locally to treat patients.
