Imphal: The Manipur Peace and Integrity (MAPI) Council kept its 26th Foundation Day low-key this Wednesday. The group opted for a modest event due to the ongoing instability in the state. They skipped any large celebrations.
Council members spent the day at the Yaibilen Children's Home in Keibi Sanapat. They hauled in school bags, T-shirts, slippers, and food staples like potatoes, oil, and fermented fish. The team sat down with the kids to talk. They pushed them to focus on schoolwork, telling them to "remain committed to their studies and strive towards building a bright future."
Women from the Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup and the Awang Sekmai Advance Women Society joined the effort at the home. The day concluded at Chingkhei Ching in Kangla Siphoi. Council members planted various indigenous saplings there to help the local environment. Officials said the tree drive reflects their long-term pledge to social duty and protecting the land.
