Manipur Officials Demand Justice After Deadly Attack in Kangpokpi

Imphal: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen have condemned the killing of three civilians and the destruction of property in Loibol village. The incident in Kangpokpi district claimed the lives of Letkhongam Haokip, Tinmary Haokip, and Jangminlal Haokip, leaving the local community in mourning.

Addressing the tragedy, Nemcha Kipgen expressed her sorrow and emphasized the government's commitment to safety. "I am deeply saddened and anguished by the tragic loss of three innocent lives, including a woman, in the unfortunate incident that occurred at Loibol village under New Keithelmanbi in Kangpokpi district," she stated. She added that targeting innocent people hinders efforts to secure a peaceful future for the state.

Haokholet Kipgen labeled the attack a barbaric act that destroyed livelihoods and homes. He called upon the Indian government and security agencies to provide immediate relief to the victims and strengthen protections for vulnerable villages in the region. Local residents continue to push for increased security deployments as authorities investigate the circumstances behind the violence.
