Manipur Mourns Death of Veteran Journalist G. Naocha Sharma

Imphal: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity confirmed the death of senior reporter Guruaribam Naocha Sharma. He died after suffering through a long illness. The media fraternity lost a pillar.

Born in 1969 in Imphal, Sharma built a career reporting for the Imphal Times and several national news outlets. He fought for the rights of reporters throughout his life. He served on the AMWJU Standing Committee and held the role of General Secretary for the union from 2011 to 2013.

COCOMI issued a statement on his legacy. The committee stated that his "passing is a great loss to the media fraternity and society." They praised his work in defending democratic values and responsible reporting. His colleagues remember him as a man dedicated to his craft and the welfare of his peers. The group sent prayers to his family during this time.
