Imphal: Patsoi MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor Singh wants people to work together to bridge the ethnic divide in Manipur. The state has suffered through conflict for more than three years. Singh spoke at an Angan Milan Seva programme held in Takyel Kolom Leikai, Imphal West, on September 29.
Things are slowly getting better. The government opened several national highways. Still, fear keeps many locals off the roads. Singh noted that physical progress is not enough to fix the deep wounds left by the fighting.
"Most national highways are open, but the trust deficit that developed during this crisis has gone deep. People still have some reluctance or fear to travel on the highways," Singh said. He emphasized that government action has limits. Healing broken community bonds requires the help of every citizen.
The BJP Mandal of Patsoi organized the event for the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The ceremony recognized ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and helpers. Singh praised these individuals for their work in maternal healthcare and child nutrition. He called them a vital part of the national health network. During his speech, the MLA also lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
