Manipur MLA Blames Kuki Agitators for Kanto Sabal Arson Attack

Imphal: Manipur BJP legislator Heikham Dingo Singh pinned the blame on Kuki agitators for an arson attack that destroyed three homes in Kanto Sabal village. The blaze hit the Imphal West district as local tensions simmer. Police moved fast. Authorities have already nabbed two to three suspects as the investigation pushes forward.

Singh inspected the wreckage alongside the local superintendent of police and the deputy commissioner. He condemned the violence, especially given the site sits near the Leimakhong Army camp. "Yesterday's incident took place at Kanto Sabal where three houses were burned down by the agitators of Kuki," Singh said.

The legislator raised alarms about security near one of the largest military installations in the Northeast. He confirmed that the arson case reached the desks of the Chief Minister and the Union Home Minister. Officials continue to monitor the ground situation as the search for additional culprits carries on.
