Imphal: The Department of Agriculture in Manipur is launching a statewide campaign to update land records under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Starting June 15, the initiative aims to help eligible farmers resolve technical hurdles that have prevented them from accessing their annual financial assistance of 6,000 rupees.
Agriculture Director Peter Salam noted that many registered participants currently face payment delays because their land details remain outdated on the official portal. To fix this, the department will establish dedicated help desks at all notified fertiliser distribution centres across the state. Staff at these locations will assist farmers with status checks, registration errors, and document verification.
Farmers must bring their Aadhaar cards and current land records, such as a Jamabandi, to these appointments. For residents in hill areas, officials will accept a land certificate issued by the village authority if it has been authenticated by the Sub-Divisional Officer. The department urges all eligible participants to visit these centres, stating that the drive is designed to ensure "that their records are updated and that they continue to receive benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme without interruption."
