Manipur Governor Sends Displaced Students to Dehradun for Free Schooling

Imphal: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla met five students and their guardians at Lok Bhavan in Imphal today. These children, all internally displaced from Moreh and Churachandpur, are leaving relief camps to attend the Doon Sanskriti School in Uttarakhand. They will study for free through Class X.

The ITITI-Doon Sanskriti School sponsorship covers tuition, uniforms, lodging, and board. The Assam Rifles is picking up the tab for their travel to Dehradun. The force selected these pupils from children living in various camps under the watch of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South).

Governor Bhalla told the group to work hard. He described the opportunity as a "significant step towards securing a brighter future for the students." He also thanked the Assam Rifles for mentoring the kids and helping them find quality schooling despite their recent hardships.

Major General Gaurav Sharma and Brigadier Pratyush Kumar attended the meeting. The Governor finished by wishing the students luck in their upcoming academic journey.
