Imphal: Manipur state officials are intensifying efforts to restore order and promote growth following a year of severe ethnic unrest. Since the violence began in May 2023, more than 260 people have died and thousands have faced displacement across several districts.

To address these challenges, Yumnam Khemchand Singh met with Ram Muivah and local village chiefs from Sanakeithel at the state secretariat on Wednesday. The group discussed strategies to foster lasting stability and reviewed a memorandum submitted by the delegation.

Government representatives focused on regional infrastructure projects and social welfare programs to support the affected population. Authorities reported that enhanced security measures have already contributed to a gradual return to normalcy in the Sanakeithel area.
