Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met with Narcotics Control Bureau officials in Imphal on July 1 to overhaul the state's anti-drug strategy. The sit-down at the State Secretariat included Deputy Director General R. Sudhakar and Additional Director P. K. Mishra. They want results. The group prioritized better intelligence gathering and tighter links between local police and federal agencies.

Officials also looked at how to better enforce the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985. The goal is simple: smash the illegal trade. Singh confirmed the administration plans to widen its net by working with international partners to stop trafficking operations. "The government remains firmly committed to eliminating the drug menace through coordinated and sustained efforts," the Chief Minister said.
