Manipur Forest Officials Launch 5th Annual Ningol Vana Program

Imphal: Manipur's Central Forest Division kicked off the 5th annual Ningol Vana event in Matai. The program aims to link environmental protection with the work of local women. It drew a massive crowd from the community.

Divisional Forest Officer Vikram Suresh Nadhe led the opening ceremony. He worked alongside the Matai Joint Forest Management Committee, the Matai Women Welfare Association, and the Naharol Yaipha Lamjing Club. Local youth, village leaders, and residents filled the ranks.

The event wrapped up with a massive tree planting drive. Officials and neighbors dug into the soil together. This collective effort highlights a push for better biodiversity and sustainable forest management across the region.

The official goal is to recognize "the vital role of women in protecting forests and nurturing nature." Everyone left the site with a shared mission to keep Manipur green.
