Imphal: The Election Commission of India published Manipur’s draft electoral roll. The list counts 1,934,399 voters. Officials reached this number after a massive revision project that checked in on over two million eligible people. Participation hit 92.42 percent during the check.
The data shows a split of 940,466 men, 993,660 women, and 294 third-gender voters. Authorities cleaned the books by dumping 43,000 deceased names, 108,283 shifted electors, and 7,394 duplicates. Election officials grew the count of Booth Level Agents to 6,363 to help keep the process honest.
Polling stations rose from 2,956 to 3,041. The goal is to keep each station under 1,200 voters. The state also made specific plans for those forced from their homes by unrest. According to the state office, "The number of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) increased to 6,363, with representatives from 10 recognised political parties participating in the revision process to enhance transparency."
Anyone turning 18 by July 1, 2026, can sign up now. The public can file claims or raise objections until August 4. Officials will clear these by September 2. The final list arrives September 6.
