Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh attended a Jan Kalyan Shivir welfare camp in Imphal on Saturday, where he focused on bringing government services directly to local residents. The event, hosted by the Imphal West district administration at the Hao Ground, serves as a pillar for the broader Viksit Bharat and Viksit Manipur 2047 initiatives.

During his address, the Chief Minister provided updates on critical infrastructure developments in the state. He confirmed that the railway line has successfully reached Khongsang and is projected to arrive in Imphal within two years, with further plans to extend the network to Moreh. He noted that the transition from the Look East policy to the Act East policy acts as a gateway to South East Asia, creating fresh opportunities for the next generation.

Highlighting the necessity of social stability, the Chief Minister called for unity across all communities. He urged citizens to abandon divisions and prioritize communication, stating, "Appeal to all communities in the state to set aside their differences and embrace dialogue as the path towards lasting peace and development."

The Chief Minister also performed official outreach duties by distributing educational allowances to two children with special needs and providing nutritional support to four tuberculosis patients. Before the camp, he recognized artist Yendrembam Ibochouba Singh at the 7th Governor’s Art Award ceremony for his contributions to fine arts.
