Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met with planning officials at the Secretariat on July 10 to check on the Manipur Startup Scheme. He reviewed progress and pushed for more self-reliance among the state's youth. The Chief Minister met with Special Secretary for Planning Neilenthang Telien to look over a project presentation.
The scheme gives money and venture support to businesses across three levels. It helps those in the idea stage, the revenue stage, and those applying through the Chief Minister's Entrepreneurship Support Scheme. Officials want to build a stronger local business base. "The initiative is aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs, creating employment opportunities and strengthening Manipur's startup ecosystem, while encouraging innovation and building a self-reliant state," Singh said.
This program seeks to create jobs across the state. It relies on government backing to turn local ideas into working companies. Officials expect these efforts to push innovation forward in the region.
