Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh attended the State Krishi Mela 2026 at the City Convention Hall on June 6. Serving as the event's chief guest, he used the platform to reaffirm the state government's commitment to improving farmer welfare through sustainable agricultural practices.
The event highlighted several key initiatives, including the promotion of natural farming and the official launch of related agricultural products. During the gathering, the state government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Central Agricultural University and distributed new farm machinery to local producers. Outstanding farmers were also recognized and honored for their dedication to the industry.
Addressing the attendees, the Chief Minister emphasized the role of modern technology and infrastructure in bolstering the sector. He stated, "The government's efforts to support farmers through modern technology, improved infrastructure and welfare-oriented schemes" are central to the state's agricultural strategy.
The program drew farmers, experts, and officials from across the state to share strategies for strengthening rural livelihoods. By fostering collaboration between stakeholders, the Manipur government aims to ensure long-term prosperity for the local farming community.
