Manipur Assembly Speaker Honors Record-Holding Social Worker

Imphal: Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh recently honored government employee Khoisnam Tokyo Meetei for his humanitarian service and international achievements. Meetei, who works as an assistant with the Juvenile Justice Board, was recently entered into the European Record Book for receiving the Inspiring Human Award Record.

Coming from a humble background as the son of a former hawker, Meetei has dedicated much of his life to supporting the vulnerable. Since 2016, he has donated a portion of his monthly salary to assist HIV-affected individuals, widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities. He also pays tribute to his roots by donating 5,000 rupees annually to the All Manipur Hawker Association.

The Speaker praised Meetei for his dedication, noting that his commitment to uplifting vulnerable sections of society serves as an inspiring example of public service beyond official duties. Beyond his official recognition, Meetei remains the first person from Northeast India to be featured in this international record book, cementing his legacy as a leader in humanitarian aid.
