Mangmetong Village Honors Newly Elected MLA Daochir Imchen

Kohima: The Mangmetong Village Council held a thanksgiving ceremony on Saturday at the Panchayat Bhavan to honor Daochir I. Imchen, the newly elected MLA for the 28 Koridang constituency. Imchen currently serves as an advisor for the departments of Information and Public Relations and Soil and Water Conservation. The gathering drew a wide range of attendees, including party officials from various levels, local village council members, and representatives from town and ward authorities.

During his first address since the election, Imchen thanked his constituents for their support and promised to uphold the service legacy of his late father, Imkong L. Imchen. He also extended his appreciation to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for his current advisory appointment. To mark the start of his tenure, Imchen announced an allocation of Rs. 20 lakhs through the District Planning Department to support skill development for 40 local youths.

Addressing the young attendees, he encouraged them to make the most of the resources provided through earnest effort. He stated, "This was only the beginning of efforts towards all round development through coordination and cooperation of stakeholders." The event featured speeches from several local leaders, musical performances by the Youth Ministry and Tsuza and friends, and prayers led by local clergy.
