Man killed by passenger train in Assam's Nagaon district

Guwahati: A man died on Saturday after being struck by a passenger train on the Guwahati-Silghat line. The incident occurred in the Baghbarali area of Samaguri, located within Assam's Nagaon district.

Local residents discovered the body on the tracks during the early morning hours and contacted the Samaguri Police. Officers from the local station and representatives from the Railway Department arrived shortly after to inspect the scene and begin an initial investigation.

Authorities identified the deceased as Munindra Barman, a resident of Gotonga in Samaguri. Officials have launched a formal inquiry to determine the exact circumstances of the death, noting that they are currently examining whether it was an accident or if other factors were involved. Following the inspection, the body was recovered from the tracks to complete necessary legal procedures.
