Kohima: The Lotha Youth Hoho has ordered an accused drug peddler to leave Wokha district for five years as part of an ongoing campaign to eliminate substance abuse in the area. The decision follows the May 28, 2026, apprehension of an individual identified as Chenithung, who was allegedly caught smuggling drugs from Merapani by the Tsumang Youth Organisation.
Following a meeting held at the Lotha Youth Hoho office on May 29, the organization officially directed the accused to vacate the district by June 3, 2026. During the same operation, authorities also detained two drug users, whom the youth body has strongly advised to seek professional rehabilitation immediately.
The Lotha Youth Hoho issued a stern warning to other peddlers, urging them to cease illegal activities voluntarily or face strict consequences. The organization praised the Tsumang colony youth for their proactive stance and encouraged other local groups in Wokha to initiate similar efforts. The youth body committed to supporting community initiatives aimed at keeping Wokha free from illegal drugs.
