Itanagar: Criminals are picking apart commercial vehicles left stranded on the Hoj-Potin road in Arunachal Pradesh. Heavy landslides and rising floodwaters forced drivers to abandon their rigs in the disaster zone. Now, parts and cargo are vanishing.

Owners report that unidentified thieves are stripping accessories and goods from unattended trucks. The situation has turned desperate for those who lost access to their property. These people are now pleading for order.

They want the public to show some character. The affected owners urged locals to "maintain decency, restraint and humanitarian conduct during the ongoing crisis." They see this looting as an act of exploitation.

Local authorities face pressure to lock down the area. Drivers demand more police patrols to stop the theft. They want to ensure relief work continues without more losses.
