Longleng Officials Approve Development Projects and Push Census Accuracy

Kohima: Longleng district leaders met Tuesday to greenlight local development plans. The District Planning and Development Board approved shifting the GPS Namsang C school to the local EAC office. Officials also cleared the 2026-27 Local Area Development Programme scheme and the registration of the Phom Sports Association. Plans for a new astro turf and a horticulture office in Tamlu moved forward.

Advisor A Pongshi Phom pushed for total accuracy in the current Census. He warned that population data dictates how resources flow to the district. He told officials, "Every individual should be enumerated at their place of residence in accordance with Census guidelines." He expects workers to act with full professionalism.

MLA B Bangtick Phom issued a direct order to all department heads. Stop leaving your posts. He demanded that staff remain stationed at their headquarters to keep government programs running on time. Deputy Commissioner W Manpai Phom chaired the session, where members focused on cleaning up operations and tracking local growth.
