Guwahati: A lightning strike killed three people in Rangsali village on Thursday. Soul Horo, Jackson Karketta, and Jayanti Toppo died instantly at the Debera Doloni paddy field. The strike occurred around 1:30 pm when Toppo brought lunch to the two men working the land.

A fourth person remains in critical condition following the blast. Family members claim the victims could not reach a hospital in time. They say the "poor condition of the village road" delayed the ambulance long enough to prevent any chance of life-saving care.

This marks the second fatal storm event in the district this month. Jatin Gogoi, 75, died in a similar strike while working his fields in Bihpuria on June 7.
