Guwahati: A leopard cat turned up dead on the roadside in the Kokjhar area of Palashbari, Assam, on August 3. Local residents discovered the carcass early in the morning and alerted the Forest Department. The find raises alarms about wildlife safety near Kamrup district forest zones.
Officials suspect a speeding vehicle hit the animal. While the cause of death remains under investigation, the incident reflects a pattern of fatal accidents involving local wildlife and heavy traffic. Residents and conservationists are now pushing for tighter safety measures.
