Kohima: The Langpangkong Students' Conference marked 78 years of operation this Monday. Members gathered at the Chuchuyimlang Town Hall to celebrate the milestone. Founded on June 22, 1948, the group works to drive educational and social progress for youth in the Langpangkong range.
Marsanen Imsong, president of the Ao Senden, attended as the guest of honor. The event focused on the history of the organization and its ongoing goal to build responsible leaders while keeping local heritage alive.
The group presented the late L. Pangersowa Trust Award for Academic Excellence during the ceremony. Imnayangla of Unger village took home the prize for her performance in the HSLC examination. She received cash and citations for her hard work.
Speakers paid tribute to the founding fathers who started the movement nearly eight decades ago. The organization reaffirmed its primary goal in a statement, noting, "LKM reiterated its resolve to contribute meaningfully to society through education, service and community engagement."
