Itanagar: Heavy rain and flash floods hammered Arunachal Pradesh this week. The weather turned brutal overnight on June 24. Landslides buried key highway sections, cutting off travel to western districts.

Additional District Magistrate Kipa Raja issued an emergency advisory Wednesday. Two routes are completely blocked: NH-13 between Sagalee and Hoj Junction, and NH-713A from Potin to the Dakte-Hoj bridge. Crews are working to clear the mess. SUSHEE Infra and Mining Ltd is handling NH-13, while the PWD Ziro Highway Division tackles the other route.

Progress remains slow. Rain keeps falling, complicating the cleanup. Officials warned, "it is not yet possible to determine the exact time required to restore traffic movement due to the extent of the damage and the prevailing weather conditions."

Drivers in East Kameng, Pakke Kessang, West Kameng, and Tawang must stay off these roads. The travel ban holds until at least the morning of June 25. Authorities will review the damage then. Keep an eye on local updates. Use the provided emergency numbers if you need help.
