Imphal: Heavy rain slammed Manipur, triggering a string of landslides that choked National Highway-37. This road is the state's main lifeline for goods coming from Assam. Traffic is dead. The highway is impassable at Shantikhunou, Oinamlong Zero Point, and Nungdolan.

A major slip hit near the CRPF camp between Sibilong and Kaimai villages. Police reports confirm the mess sits under the Kaimai Police Station jurisdiction in Tamenglong district. Hundreds of trucks and private vehicles are now stuck on both sides of the debris.

Empty trucks heading to Jiribam are idling on the road. Cargo trucks carrying essentials from Silchar to Imphal are also trapped. A security convoy slated to escort trucks from Jiribam on Wednesday was axed. No injuries or deaths appeared in the reports.

Restoring travel will take time. Authorities say fixing the mess and building temporary bypasses could take two to three days. Officials are watching the spots closely while workers try to clear the path. Commuters have been told to stay away for now. One official stated, "Restoration of traffic may take another two to three days as efforts are underway to reconstruct diversion roads at the affected locations."
