Landslides Cut Off Roads in Arunachal Pradesh District

Itanagar: Torrential rain hammered Keyi Panyor on Wednesday morning, June 24, triggering massive landslides. Slips and soil erosion smashed roads in Possa village, Pitapool, and Nepco Colony. The damage halted traffic and snarled local supply chains.

Debris piles now choke the road between Potin and Possa. Vehicles cannot pass. Commuters are stranded and essential goods are not moving. Local authorities and residents are currently surveying the wreckage. They plan to start clearing the debris as soon as possible to restore access.

Officials issued a stern warning for travelers to stay away from the Potin-Possa route. "Travelers and local residents have been advised to avoid the Potin-Possa route until further notice and exercise caution amid prevailing weather conditions."

No deaths or injuries appeared in the initial reports. Recovery crews remain on standby. The weather forecast calls for more rain, keeping the district on high alert for further trouble.
