Itanagar: A massive landslide buried Siji Block Point in Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday, choking the Siji River. Debris created a natural dam, triggering fears that the structure could snap and dump a wall of water on downstream communities. Authorities are watching the buildup closely.

Video footage from the scene shows a biker narrowly avoiding a disaster as the current surged. The Lower Siang Police issued an urgent alert for Likabali and neighboring regions in Assam, warning people to stay away from riverbanks. Officials also told travelers to cancel non-essential trips until the weather clears.

The India Meteorological Department expects more rain, which keeps the danger high. Tuting-Yingkiong MLA Alo Libang warned that roads and homes are at risk across the state. In a message to the public, Libang noted, "The situation across Arunachal Pradesh is becoming increasingly concerning, with reports of landslides and flooding from several areas."

Libang urged locals to stay alert and back rescue teams. The state remains on edge as the monsoon season continues to hammer the hilly region. Police want the advisory shared to keep vulnerable families safe from a sudden flash flood.
