KV Umroi Cantt NCC Cadets Excel at Annual Training Camp

Shillong: NCC cadets from PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Umroi Cantt achieved significant success at the Combined Annual Training Camp held in Shillong. The event took place from May 21 to 30 at the 58 Gorkha Training Centre in Happy Valley, drawing 647 participants from various regional institutions.

The school's contingent of 20 members, split between Junior Division and Junior Wing cadets, competed across several disciplines. Individual medalists included Anisha Pathak, who took gold in debate and bronze in the quiz. Gyanankur Kashyap secured a silver medal in the quiz alongside a bronze in drill, while Ankita Kumari earned a silver medal for her essay writing.

Col Vishal Madhok, the Commanding Officer of the 2 Meghalaya Battalion NCC, oversaw the training exercises. Associate NCC Officer Krishna Nand Singh, who coordinated the school's team, noted that his guidance was "instrumental to the team’s success."
