Imphal: The Kuki Students Organisation Sadar Hills has issued a formal response to recent claims made by the All Naga Students Association, Manipur regarding ongoing violence and abductions. In a statement released on May 27, the group urged authorities to rely on evidence-based investigations rather than pointing fingers at specific communities or individuals.
While acknowledging that the reported abduction of six Naga individuals is a serious matter requiring legal attention, the organization stressed that responsibility must be determined through proper due process. The group pointed to past instances where local communities successfully collaborated to restore peace and secure the release of hostages, suggesting that similar efforts could be effective today.
Beyond the recent Naga abductions, the student body highlighted concerns about the treatment of civilians and church leaders in the region. They called for thorough and independent inquiries into these events to establish the facts. By prioritizing constitutional processes and impartial investigations, the KSO hopes to hold violators accountable while fostering stability in the conflict-ridden areas of Manipur.
