Kohima Police Recover Stolen Motorcycles and Apprehend Two Minors

Kohima: Kohima Police have recovered two stolen motorcycles and detained two juveniles in connection with a string of vehicle thefts. The investigation began after a formal complaint was filed on May 8, 2026, regarding a motorcycle missing from Midland Colony.

Authorities utilized both technical intelligence and human sources to identify and locate the two minor suspects. During the subsequent inquiry, officers not only found the motorcycle reported from Midland Colony but also traced a second vehicle that had been reported stolen within the jurisdiction of the North Police Station.

Following their apprehension, the juveniles were transferred to an Observation Home in compliance with the Juvenile Justice Act. Once legal formalities were finalized, the police returned both recovered motorcycles to their original owners.

Officials reaffirmed their commitment to reducing property crimes and maintaining public safety. The department also encouraged local residents to implement better security measures for their vehicles and to report any suspicious behavior to local stations immediately.
